Huge congratulations to Kristin Lamberty on having her DigiQuilt software making the list of finalists in the SIGGRAPH 2010 Learning Challenge! KK designed DigiQuilt as a software tool to help elementary children better understand mathematical concepts like fractions and symmetry. The current implementation of the software started life as a project in our Software Design and Development course and has been subsequently been completely rewritten by KK’s research students, especially Jason Biatek (UMM ’10).
As one of the 20 finalist projects, KK will be attending the SIGGRAPH conference in LA next month to present the work to the judges, who then pick the big winner.
This is super cool – congratulations to KK and all the students who have worked with her on DigiQuilt!
